Now that you’ve got a new website that is optimized for the search engines and ready for the whole world to see, what can you do to promote it? Here are 6 easy steps to quickly build a presence on the web to jumpstart your new site:
- Submit your URL to several top search engines:
Google
Yahoo
Live Search
Alexa - Create a sitemap and submit it to Google Webmaster Tools
- Post your URL on relevant forums and message boards (When doing this, make sure that you include a “real” message in your postings, otherwise they may be considered spam and will be deleted and you may be blocked from posting)
- Send a mass email to your friends and family announcing your new website (be sure to include a message asking them to forward it on)
- Create a “keyword rich” press release and submit it to several online newswire distribution services:
I-Newswire
PRZOOM
PRWeb
PRLog - Post an announcement to your blog or comment on several relevant blogs using your website as part of your signature
