Just when we were starting to think that .com and .net were the only really valuable domains, .de made a surprised demonstration last week in Amsterdam by producing an “almost” million dollar domain sale.

Poker.de – which is apparently an online poker room was sold at DOMAINfest last week for a reported $957,937. This is obviously a new record for the .de extension.
